Integrations

Duster acts as the bridge between your communication channels and your project management tools. Here is how to set them up.

Messaging Platforms

Slack

The Slack integration is the primary entry point for Duster.

• Capabilities:
  • Message Sync: Reads public channels and threads.
  • Bot User ("Dusty"): Can reply to threads to request more info or confirm actions.
  • Deep Linking: Direct links from Duster to specific Slack messages.
• Setup:
  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Slack.
  3. Authorize the Duster Bot for your workspace.
  4. Invite @Duster to the specific channels you want to monitor.

Discord

Connect your community servers to track user feedback and support requests.

• Capabilities: Monitor channels for bug reports and feature requests.
• Setup:
  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Discord.
  3. Select the server you wish to integrate.

Issue Tracking

Linear

Sync your engineering workflow with your user feedback.

• Capabilities:
  • Issue Creation: Automatically creates issues from valid feedback.
  • Comment Sync: Adds new feedback to existing issues as comments.
  • Status Sync: Updates Slack threads when Linear issues are completed (coming soon).
• Setup:
  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Linear.
  3. Grant permission to reading/writing issues and comments.
  4. Duster will map your Linear teams to your Duster organization.

Security & Permissions

Duster uses OAuth 2.0 for all integrations, ensuring we only access what is necessary.

• Slack: We request channels:history, chat:write, and groups:history.
• Linear: We act as an application actor to modify issues on your behalf.
